I agree. But what also isn’t being talked about is the 52% of white women (according to CNN exit polls http://www.cnn.com/election/results/exit-polls) who put him in office. The women who are OKAY with being good, quiet women, right where they (we) should be. Women are afraid, threatened, bullied, held back not only by men but by other women in this country. I sometimes feel like we’ve subscribed to this as unwritten law here, and that we’re too tired or too daunted (or WHAT??) to break out of these chains. I went to school with the boys who sat in the back of the class, smugly cheating their way to A’s (my rant on this and other misogynistic tendencies here https://medium.com/@lwoodruff/your-protest-vote-pisses-me-off-1f7a9b2ca92b#.9nnzl5o82)… they win. They always do. And I am baffled by it.

I’ve woken up heart-sick most mornings since the election, dreading the headlines and the feeling of “we did this.” We. Did. This. I don’t know how to fix it. I wish I did.
